An independent distillery
Based on Royal Deeside, Scotland

Born From Heritage & Tradition,
But Not Bound By It

Burn O’ Bennie Distillery was born from the heritage and traditions of Royal Deeside at the hands of owners Mike Bain and Liam Pennycook.

Appearance

Looks can be deceiving, nestled on the outskirts of Banchory is Burn O’Bennie Distillery. When the shutters are down, it looks perfectly inconspicuous, but as the shutters are lifted you are greeted with a cacophony of silver and copper. Beautiful pot stills to your left and our state-of-the-art copper clad brew kit straight ahead.

Aroma

The rich chocolate notes fill the distillery. This is due, in part to our fascination of speciality malts. Crystal, Chocolate, Rye & Corn, experimentation with our wash is so important. Ensuring we develop as much flavour as we can before distillation.

Whisky writer Charles Maclean, went on record to say that the biggest mistake in his whisky tasting career was that he thought our 2-year-old spirit was 18 years old!

Palate

We want to be making as ‘clean’ a spirit as we can, we can achieve this in multiple ways. We have smaller stills that take less energy to heat, concentrating our wash creating yield and flavour amplification, Brewkit made and designed in the UK & keeping our manufacturing footprint to a minimum.
